Coronavirus in Oregon: State reports 220 new cases, 3 deaths – OregonLive

The Oregon Health Authority on Monday reported 220 new presumed and confirmed coronavirus cases and three new deaths connected to COVID-19.

The numbers come as cases fell in Oregon for a fourth consecutive week. Gov. Kate Brown has said she expects to lift restrictions statewide in June so long as 70% of Oregonians 18 and older are at least partially vaccinated.

On Thursday, Multnomah County moved from “high risk” to “lower risk”, allowing restaurants, bars and gyms to expand capacity.

Vaccines: Oregon reported 10,198 newly administered doses, which includes 3,943 on Sunday and the remainder from previous days. The current rolling average is 24,730 doses every day.

Where the new cases are by county: Clackamas (35), Clatsop (1), Columbia (3), Coos (1), Curry (1), Deschutes (17), Douglas (15), Jackson (17), Josephine (6), Klamath (6), Lane (21), Lincoln (3), Linn (9), Marion (31), Morrow (2), Multnomah (39), Polk (5), Tillamook (1), Union (1), Wasco (4), Yamhill (2).

Who died: Oregon’s 2,669th COVID-19 death is an 80-year-old Douglas County man who tested positive May 27 and died May 29 at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.

The 2,670th death is a 93-year-old Jackson County man who tested positive May 13 and died May 29 at Providence Medford Medical Center. He had underlying conditions.

The 2,671st death is a 68-year-old Linn County man who tested positive May 17 and died May 30 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.

Hospitalizations: 229 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are hospitalized, down one from Sunday. That includes 61 people in intensive care, up one from Sunday.

Since it began: Oregon has reported 201,475 confirmed or presumed infections and 2,671 deaths, among the lowest per capita numbers in the nation. To date, the state has reported 3,955,544 vaccine doses administered, fully vaccinating 1,850,566 people.
