Manchester United have just three matches remaining in all competitions this season before another campaign draws to a close.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have secured their spot in the top-four, landing Champions League qualification for next season, and are due to compete in the Europa League final.
While excitement for the clash against Villarreal continues to build, United have a few more hurdles to overcome in the Premier League.
United host Fulham at Old Trafford tomorrow, where fans can return to the stadium for the first time in over a year, before an away trip to face Wolves on the final day of the campaign this weekend.
Ahead of those clashes, United’s squad have been training as usual and we’ve spotted a number of things of note from the pictures released.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to end the campaign with his first piece of silverware at United but, with two games to go before the Europa League final, was looking relaxed in training.
With a top-four finish secured, Solskjaer can use the final two matches of the season as a challenge to his squad to secure their spot in the starting line-up for the final.
That could work as great motivation for a number of players and Solskjaer can take it all in from the sidelines, not getting too stressed about what is going on as there’s nothing to play for but pride this week.
Fresh from making his Manchester United debut last week against Leicester City, Anthony Elanga will be keen to get another taste of first-team action and an opportunity could present itself this week.
The fixture against Fulham presents Elanga with his first chance of playing in front of an Old Trafford crowd, albeit with reduced capacity, and fine performances could give him an opportunity of competing in the Europa League next week – though likely off the bench.
The coming matches, as well as training sessions, also allow Elanga to show his worth to the squad ahead of a transfer window where United are likely to be active.
Fresh from signing a new contract with Manchester United, Edinson Cavani has been the main man in attack for Solskjaer’s side recently and has a lot of weight on his shoulders heading into next week’s Europa League final.
The Uruguayan forward has contributed four goals and four assists in his last three starts for the club, a record he’ll be keen to extend in the final weeks of the season.
While the big challenge for the former Paris Saint-Germain man will come next week, Cavani will be looking to maintain his form against Fulham and Wolves.

United’s squad has progressed extremely well this season, securing Champions League qualification and reaching the Europa League final.
The close unity within the squad has been clear to see on a number of occasions and once again was shown during the latest training session.
Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw could be seen talking to one another during the training session.
Mata’s last hurrah
Juan Mata could leave Manchester United this summer and could make his goodbye appearance in front of the fans at Old Trafford tomorrow.
In his years in the Premier League, the Spain international has enjoyed vast success at both Old Trafford and previously with Chelsea.
This season, first-team opportunities have decreased for Mata and he might be keen to earn more playing time with another club.
