Third-year forward Michael Porter Jr. recorded just three points in the Nuggets’ 115-95 loss to the Blazers in Game 4. Prior to Game 5, Porter explained that he is focused on getting back on track on Tuesday.

Following Porter’s early-week media availability, The Oregonian’s Geoffrey Arnold highlighted the comments made by the sweet-shooting forward.

“It’s on me to stay aggressive. I can’t let myself be as small of a factor as I was in the last couple of games,” Porter Jr. said Monday. “It’s a learning experience for me. I’m gonna learn sooner rather than later, and it will be a different game tomorrow.”

In regards to his overall approach, Porter explained that he has to fight through adversity as the series returns to Denver.

“Imposing my will. Not letting a game plan or player or a couple of players take me out of what I do,” Porter Jr. said Monday. “I can’t allow that.”

Coach Michael Malone echoed Porter’s thoughts.

“He has to help himself,” Malone said Monday. “Michael’s gotta be a lot more aggressive. A lot more physical.”

Prior to Game 4, Porter had reached double-digits point totals in the first three games of the series. The Blazers and Nuggets cross paths for Game 5 at 6:00 p.m. PT.
